Today, the Olympic range is visible off in the distance, and the air above the sound is foggy, so it looks like the Olympics rise right out of the fog.

I think humans are built to find large bodies of water peaceful and relaxing. There's probably some reason for it that wouldn't hurt to know, but for now I'll just enjoy it.

I'm so tempted to go on a ferry boat ride today. I need to think and plan for work. I'm not sure if a ferry boat ride would help or hurt that though.

There's a crane across the street that's being used for adding a story or two to an existing building. The engineering of the crane intrigues me. It's interesting how the wires and the arm of the crane are put together to make balance and counterbalance so the bulk of the force from the weight goes straight down the shaft of the crane.

Anyway, that's enough stream-of-consciousness for one day. Back to work. :-)

Nah, that's a different impulse that I think is more related to going out to eat together than it is to people's love for lakes and oceans. :-)
