04:08 pm - Adventures in home networking

I've been making many modifications to my home network recently. The whole setup is going to jump in complexity by an order of magnitude or so. I'm going to be supporting VPN tunnels from any random network my laptop might be on, traffic shaping for untrusted computers connected to my network, and various other things.

I'm actually having to diagram and plan carefully to make sure I catch all the cases and handle everything correctly. And I'm going to end up using most of Linux's advanced networking facilities to pull it off. After this, I'll feel competent to architect a small to mid-size company's network for them. :-)

That's a project I've been thinking of embarking upon too. But, I think that'll have to wait for awhile.
