10:59 pm - You can now edit Google maps!

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

If you have a Google account Google Maps now lets you edit map locations if they're wrong. I've wanted this feature for awhile as Google frequently gets the location of my living place slightly wrong.

I've been going and editing the locations of all the addresses I know about so they're right. :-)

I don't understand why people use Mapquest anymore. They were first, sure, but Google maps was the first to let you drag the map around with your mouse, the first to show a satellite view, the first to do a hybrid satellite view with the streets marked, and now the first to let you edit bad map locations.

They're still lacking a route planning feature for pedestrians, which the awful French "Mappy" has.

I only still use Mapquest because it has a "avoid toll roads" and other elements feature that Google Maps lacks. I hate toll roads. They're everywhere here.
