10:51 am - Well, my job is going away

But, not until the end of April. And I will get at least health insurance for 1-2 months after that.

First, I really appreciate that attachmate is handling this in this way. I greatly appreciate having that kind of trust extended to my co-workers and I, and I will do my best to honor it.

Secondly, it looks like its time to dust off the resume again. I really liked this job, and I'm really sad it's going away.

I did get some experience working with a security product to put on my resume. So I'm pretty hopeful. Or maybe I'll be able to get one or another of my business ideas off the ground.

*sigh*

Ugh, my deepest sympathies. This is not the best time to be looking for a job. Whether or not you'd want to be hired at Regence I know a certain Wolfieboy who liked working with you and would likely put in a good word.

Are they doing a lot of layoffs?

Good that they're giving you time, just as long as they get that you'll spend some of it job-hunting. In a way, it's nice to have that out in the open. I once conducted a phone interview at the switchyard behind Cobalt and noticed mid-sentence that I was standing in a pile of uncapped hyperdermic needles.

Sorry to hear that, but it's great that you get that much notice.

I commiserate with your situation. and it sounds like they are being very decent about it. better than what I remember having on our end from any company.

best of luck

Not sure what geeky field you work in but here's the info for where I work. We seem to always have something open.

I would never have guessed your identity from the picture! *tongue in cheek* :-)

Thank you for the link. I'm not sure if any of those are a good fit. I'm a developer mostly. But I will keep checking back to see.

Does your company do background checks and drug screens on people before they hire them? I hate places like that.
