Previous Entry Share Next Entry

While doing various kinds of research at Amazon, one has occasion to come across some truly bizarre and/or disturbing book titles. This one defies categorization really. I expect the person on my friends list who will have the strongest visceral reaction to be wiredferret. :-)

A truly worrisome book

It does seem to have been published yet, which is part of the reason it showed up in my research.

Heh. I think it's badly titled. But hey, if breast milk is a specific against conjunctivitis, and it is, who knows what else it may be good for.

The thing that bothered me about it is that one does not usually think of human beings as dairy animals. In fact, our culture strongly discourages us from thinking of human beings as a kind of animal at all, which leads to a number of weird things. But, the dairy animal thing is particularly strange. I doubt many women would enjoy being thought of in that role, no matter how important they think breastfeeding is for the physical and emotional well-being of their child.

*laugh* Oh, I know that. This book has an excess of a certain quality I'm not sure how to name. But it's not at all the same quality as I'd decide that something on rotten.com possesses, for example.
