CAKE needs a name - Journal of Omnifarious

11:10 pm - CAKE needs a name

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

I need a name for the reference implementation of CAKE. I'm hoping for a good play on the name CAKE. I was thinking, perhaps "Bunt", but it would be nice if it were Monty Python related somehow as the sample implementation is written in Python.

How about naming it after a Python confection - "Spring Surprise" or "Crunchy Frog".

Those are interesting. But, I'm not sure anybody would purposely download a program called "Spring Surprise" or "Crunchy Frog", though the latter is much more likely. :-)

There might be other confection names that would work though. But, I'm not familiar with them. I haven't seen most of the TV series, sadly.

Other possible names from the "crunchy frog" sketch

I had to look it up online.

The box of confections was called the "Whizzo Quality Assortment" I think that might be the best name of the bunch.

Then, there is the "cherry fondue" - (extremely nasty, but we can't prosecute you for that). Then there's is "ram's bladder cup" (garnished with Lark's vomit), "cockroach cluster" and "anthrax ripple".

My personal opinion is that no software should be named "anthrax ripple".

"Whizzo Quality Assortment" is actually a really promising name. :-)

Someone else came up with a name that's not Python related, but is so cute I may have to use it anyway. Since it's the first implementation of CAKE, I could call it "Birthday". :-)

If I did that, I could make a page of things that implemented 'CAKE' and I could call it the "Whizzo Quality Assortment" page. :-)
