Woohoo! I got the database routines for storing and retrieving AssertionMessages working. I coded it up while sitting in a bar with a DJ the owner invited in spinning ravish music. :-)

Now that the database works, I should be able to start writing some of the low level handlers that keep track of where to find various CAKE ids on the network. This will enable people to very transparently send and recieve mail using addresses like 2BS2C2HOG62754DFYSMTNMNVFCZA7YQXRPRXNIOF67LNBZNZAK3A@cakem.net and have the underlying system do the right thing, and magically know that message needs to be sent to fred _at_ omnifarious.org.

Of course, then I get paged. Even worse, I don't notice I've been paged for about 15 minutes because the music is louder than my pager. It's time to put my pager on vibrate. It's a good thing I decided to check. Maybe my subconcious noticed the noise even if it didn't register.
