This is an interesting article, and I think it makes some excellent and correct points. For example, the fact that the CIA actually completely disagreed with Bush's publicly stated assessment of things, which he attributed to CIA intelligence is even now largely unreported, even though the articles were originally carried in the New York Times, albeit rather obscurely.
But, I sort of disagree with them about Clinton. He was hounded. I agree with that. But, I also think he deserved it. I think he was a petty, corrupt politician. I think Hilary is a machiavellian schemer who (among other things) engaged in a series of smoky back-room talks with insurance companies to come up with a national health care plan that benefited them.
But, I think Bush is an order of magnitude worse. He is corrupt to the core, and his corruption leads to horrible decisions that are terrible for the country as a whole instead of merely more beneficial than they should be for he and his friends. I'm really surprised that more of the press isn't painting him that way.
What I find even more disturbing is the complete lack of any acknowledgement that there's such a thing as someone who thinks differently who's not actively evil. The conservative forums here on LJ are rife with that sort of sentiment. Of course, the liberal forums have their share of it too, though it's usually cloaked in condescending comments on the intelligence of the other side.
