I had a very cultural day on Saturday, thanks to a couple of friends from here. :-) I met Ai-Lin when I started a random conversation with her when I met her while walking home from Amazon. It turned out she had moved to Seattle from Minneapolis about 6 months before I did for a job at Nordstrom. Not only that, but she lived less than a block away. It was too much of a coincidence for us not to spend a bunch of time together.

She introduced me to another friend of hers, and they've been dragging me off to various cultural events. The kind of stuff I'd never go to by myself because it just wouldn't occur to me as something to do. It's been fun.

Yesterday, we saw "The Play's The Thing" at the Intiman theater near the space needle.

Then we went to the new library that I hadn't been in yet. I need to get a library card for that place. It's too nice a place to not visit frequently. They even have good quality wireless. If they were open now, I'd be sitting in there writing this on my laptop instead of my hot apartment. The architecture of it is very interesting. rosencrantz319 would love the place.

Then we went to see the Seattle Symphony Orchestra play. I'd never been to a symphony before. That was interesting and fun too. :-)

Before you know it, I'll be dressing up in tuxes or something... Well, probably never that, but I still feel entirely too cultured now. :-)

Re: The Play's the Thing.

Only because there's a play inside the play that plays an important part in the plot. In fact, neatly wraps it all up and fixes everything in a very clever way.
