08:25 am - Busy weekend - a boring chronolog

A boring chronolog. No significant thoughts here. Move along. :-)

On Friday evening I went to see dddragonlady as she had a layover in Seattle.

I spent a bunch of Saturday evening with vettybird, ottercat, wolfieboy, and 3 others who's LJ names I don't know. We went to eat Ethiopian food, and I was quite pleased to discover that there was a decent Ethiopian restaurant in Seattle. Then we went to Twice Sold Tales, which is a nice used bookstore right across the street from the Ethiopian restaurant.

Then I went to see Fahrenheit 9/11, which I thought was very interesting. At one point in the movie, Michael Moore made a point of showing exactly how nasty war is, even for people who aren't combatants, and that was a good lesson, even if it was very unpleasant to watch. There's more to the movie, but I'll have to think longer before saying anything about it.

On Sunday, I was tired for a lot of the day. I did some remote fixing of rosencrantz319's computer. I was tired of it being a pain to install tinyfugue, so I modified the rather broken .src.rpm so that it worked. That took a lot longer than just getting it on his computer, and I took a nap and went to see Spiderman 2 in the middle of the operation. Spiderman 2 was really pretty good. A lot more character development.

Ah, not that boring, because I've eaten at that exact Ethiopian restaurant and shopped at that exact Twice Sold Tales (before I developed such an allergy to cats). There are several really good Ethiopian restaurants in Seattle, by the way. Most of them are in the Central District. My favorite is a place called Meesob. Virginia

you didn't have to be so rejecting with my donation post. I'm just trying here. what would it have hurt for you to let people read it themselves and possibly help out?

It is my job to run a community and keep it on topic and to make sure that all the posts are appropriate. I had gotten a complaint about your post (something that has never happened before, even with other posts that I had previously deleted) and it was clearly a solicitation. I must be as objectively fair and even handed in applying a pretty clear set of rules as I can, or the community will be damaged and I will not be fulfilling my responsibilities as a moderator.
