I thought I'd pass this link on to you as you have mentioned interest in this topic at one time:

After seeing some of your posts, I begin to think you might be technologically skilled. Which is perfect, cause I need help.

I stopped using my pop-up blocker because these new pop-ups are more aggressive these days, forcing my computer to freeze. I need a new blocker (free, as I lack money) that is able to handle the pop-ups without freezing my computer.

Any suggestions?

Stop using Internet Explorer, and start using Firefox. That's just a good all-around idea anyway. IE is chock-full of tasty security holes that make it very easy for other people to take over your computer when you visit their website.

Mozilla is fine to. Just stop using IE. It's downright dangerous to use. Really.

If you want to use Linux, that's great too. But, using Linux is not necessary if your goal is to get rid of popups.
