02:06 pm - Question for the Seattle people out there

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

I've been thinking it would be nice to have a rubber raft for a hiking trip a group of us from work may be taking soon. I live right at I5 and James Street in downtown Seattle, and I was curious if anybody knew of a good place I could go to rent a decent quality rubber raft.

I will be carrying this raft on my back in lieu of my normal 12-17kg backpack. I could probably convince someone else to carry a couple of plastic oars. :-)

REI can take care of pretty much any outdoor need, I believe. Have you been to the flagship store (on Yesler, I think) yet?

Ha! Yea right!

Thanks!

I think someone may have pointed it out to me, but I've never been there.

I live on the other side of I5, and the other side of James from it.

I don't know if you have access to anyone who works for the air force base but you can rent all of the outdoor rafting equipment you need for only $2 to $3. They don't charge cleaning fees or anything. That's usually where I get most of my outdoor stuff because I can use it for the entire weekend and be out the price of a cheeseburger!

I guess I'm not the best person to ask. I'm hoping the other 14 people who answered had an idea. I don't. REI might.
