07:22 am - Selling my laptop
Apple has announced a release date for the new version of Mac OS X. It will be released on April 29th. This means it's safe for me to get a new laptop as I will get a voucher for a free upgrade to OS X 10.4 when it comes out.
That means I will be selling my old laptop. I will be putting a version of OS X 10.4 on it as well. If any of you out there want a new laptop, I'd rather sell it to someone I know than someone I don't. Looking at eBay tells me that $1000 isn't in the least unrealistic. I won't be selling it with all that add-on software, but it will come with an extra battery and a longer AppleCare support contract. I won't be giving it to anyone until it has Tiger on it though, so that means it will be after April 29th. It does have 2 years of an Applecare support contract left on it. You'd also get some free tech support from me if you needed it.
I really like this laptop. After using an Apple laptop, I will never again go back to a PC laptop, even if it has Linux on it. But, I wanted the faster processor speed, backlit keyboard, and nicer port placement on the newer laptops. I didn't initially think I'd care about those things, but I was wrong.
