09:21 pm - Microsoft - stupid marketing tricks

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

I'm getting really tired of all the buzz I'm hearing about the stupid Microsoft 'Origami' project. I can't believe that people are falling for the stupid marketing trick of 'leaking' information about a 'secret' project in little tiny bits. It's probably some stupid unimaginative cell-phone PDA hybrid that crashes, gets viruses and plays music in some proprietary Microsoft format. Woohoo!

Of course, by posting this irritated rant, I'm just adding to the hype. *sigh*

Then they must be using excellent marketing people, since they cater to both the gullible and the smart people that will rant about it. Maybe they've trained their engineers in marketing methodologies?

You said the solution to my addiction may be to reply to your posts. NOT! (It's already matters worse, as I was just about getting ready to leave the coffeehouse.)

The "marketing" thing is a perfect topic for me to offer a quick rant on. I've turned my TV on a few times since I turned it off, six months ago. I still watch That 70's Show, and I will tolerate commercials only for that. Ever other time I've turned it on, I've realized how STUPID I've been to have watched that "boob tube," as my father used to call it, for probably 1/4 of my total life on this planet. A planet that offers soooo much more, and I neglected it! Those damn commercials, created by genius marketers, define our society, who we are, what we want, and what we'll do to get it. Thank you god, for pulling me out of that hell of the work-and-spend cycle they sucked me into.

What was your post about? Oh, yeah. Microsoft. The only people who love Microsoft are stupid people, the ones whose lives revolve around the boob tube.

Gotta go. They're kicking me out of the coffeehouse. (:

*grin* LJ is like quicksand. SLUUURP!

Yes, I agree with you about TV. I haven't owned a TV in over 10 years. I'm happier for it and feel that I've spent my time far more productively.
