I really want to be able to work on CAKE full-time. Does anybody out there know of any good ways I might accomplish this while still being able to eat and stuff?

There is a value proposition for CAKE that's similar to LJs. Basically the code is open, but you can charge people for hosting the application for them. Even parts could be hosted. Or services provided centered around CAKE ids. Perhaps even a proxy service that let non-CAKE enabled browsers browse CAKE sites.

It might also be possible to have a reverse proxy service that allowed CAKE enabled browsers to treat SSL sites as if they were CAKE sites. Though I haven't thought that one through carefully. It may be that the reverse proxy would have to be a man-in-the-middle.

Sugar Momma.

Okay, seriously. For one thing, you need a business plan. Generally speaking, this requires start up capital. I'm all for doing the thing you love, however, that sometimes can be a thing involving long term planning, with sacrifice in the reality of now.

I've started hunting around for venture capitalists to talk to. I actually need to find someone who's willing to code up the web UI bits for a service and maybe someone to help me with other parts of it to make it all work.
