Weird dream, question for everybody - Journal of Omnifarious

08:40 am - Weird dream, question for everybody

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

I had a bizarre dream last night. And one feature of the dream is that several people ended up with a weird rash that looked a lot like the numbers '216' or '612'.. Some instances of the rash were formed weirdly and didn't look like the numbers, but most had the number shapes.

My question is this: Is there a rash that actually does this? It could be caused by a parasite or fungus, or even a bacterial infection. My attempts at google searches have failed, mostly turning up places to call if you had any sort of rash. It was just such a bizarre and striking feature that I'm sure my sub-concious picked it up somewhere.

I forget the percentages.... but most people cannot see numbers or letters in their dreams. So you and I are somewhat special in that regard, but I am not sure our dream skills can be transfered into RL. *smile*

Btw, do you ski ? I am organizing a group to go to Canada Whistler.

That sounds like it could be fun. I have another friend who I _know_ enjoys skiing, and one more friend who might want to come.

My only question is how much it would cost. :-) I've been unemployed for a few months.

Here is the website to purchase a discount ski ticket.

https://secure.whistlerblackcomb.com/edgecard/onestore.asp?

It will be a good ticket until June 2007. US $60.91. This Edge card also gives
you discounts at Stevens pass ski area on HWY 2 in Washington. They must be sister ski resorts ! *smile*

Then the hotel is $199 a day canadian. Hopefully we can get exactly 4 people in each hotel room as that is cheaper. I can't remember the conversion rate or where the email went that had the break down per person. Gah....I did find some numbers though in an email to Stephanie.

$11.67 in US dollars is the cost of inner tubing. I think I will only ski one day downhill, one day cross country and one day inner tubing. And hot tub everyday. LOL

Lastly, some credit cards give you airline miles for flights ans such. Some
credit cards can transfer the airline miles into Whistler Ski Tickets. Not sure if you have one of those credit cards or not.

It is unlikely that I could afford this until around April or May. *sigh* It sounds fun though.

I can see numbers and letters, I just can't make them make any consistent sense.

Part of me says that you are halfway there. *smile*

Part of me says it might be genetic.

I am sometimes wondering if that by my writing down lots of my dreams, if I somehow increased my ability to read and understand letters and numbers in dreams.

In college I forced myself to write down dreams every morning. But then I started writing down more and more dreams as the night progressed. And I started to worry that I was spending too much time on it, so I wrote a paper on dreams and then stopped writing them down... unless I am on vacation and I have an odd dream.

I have been recording dreams since before I could write easily (I have some drawings). I have binders full of them (longhand and printed), disks and computer files full of them (in two different formats), and most recently I LiveJournal them (friends only).

My experience has been that when I spend a lot of attention and time on dreams, I remember more of them, and more vividly, up to the point that it becomes overwhelming and I slack off and they fade out again.

(I posted a previous version of this comment, but confused two threads and forgot whose journal I was in)

Ringworm could probably do that.

no rashes that I know of, but that doesn't mean they don't exist!
What do those numbers mean to you?

Well, 612 is the Minneapolis area code. The dream has mostly faded, but I remember that the rashes happened because people ate mushrooms (not hallucinogenic ones) someone handed out that were infected with a parasite of some kind. The infection wasn't purposeful.

your dream was about me :p

(Link)
cos i was born in cleveland ohio (area code 216) and now i live in minneapolis (area code 612)

dunno much about rashes like numbers, but i think it's possible. when i was in 7th grade, i had hives as a nervous reaction, and i had a lot of things like 5 hives in a row on the back of my left forearm.

so, look up psychosomatic stuff, too?
