Drug test using blood, not urine - Journal of Omnifarious

04:47 pm - Drug test using blood, not urine

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

This is a rather odd request, but I'm looking for someplace, anyplace in the Seattle area that will do a blood based drug screening test for a walk-in patient. I really need an answer to this before Friday. I've been doing a LOT of hunting myself and I haven't been able to find anyplace that will do it.

And it has to be blood. Hair will not do.

Thanks.

Edit: I found someone who would do it. It wasn't easy. I somehow magically got the contact # for someone inside one of the companies who's front people told me "We won't do that because you're just a person, not a corporation.". This person was willing to finagle something so that a place that normally handles urine walk-ins was willing to collect the money as a front for Labcorps, a place that will only do tests for individuals.

Any ER ought to do it (they do it for girls that think they might have been drugged, etc) for around $100.

Why do you need a drug test? :X

The reason is both pointless and stupid and pretty important and upsetting at the same time. But I don't really want to give details.

It is not because I suspect I may have been drugged, or that anybody has any really serious concern that I have been taking drugs, and certainly not because I have been taking any. It is a point of procedure and bureaucratic punctilio by which everybody can claim to have not made any mistakes because everybody has slavishly followed procedure. And it is significantly more important in my life than it has any business being.

mmkay. :) How annoying.

Depending on the drug(s) that you need to test for, you can also do the send-away-hair test. (You send a few strands of hair in).

I know there are some labs around here that do hair tests. Not sure about the walk-in part.

Thanks. I wish that idea would work for me. Sadly, it absolutely has to be blood. *sigh*

Call your Primary Health Care Provider.

I know my doctor would schedule anything that I ask him for within reason.

I would, if I had one. *chuckle* I'm going to find one.
