12:59 pm - Sudafed is non-drowsy

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

I discovered this in a most visceral way last night. I should've known, after svairini told me of her experiences with Sudafed and psuedoehpedrine, but, I had to experience it for myself.

In fact, psuedoephedrine is the opposite of non-drowsy. I was rather wired and awake until way too late last night because I took the stuff. OTOH, my nose no longer ran. I took some more this morning, but I'm making a point not to take any after 10:00. It's supposed to last 12 hours. I hope it wears off before I have to sleep this time.

Ummm, maybe "pseudoephedrine is the opposite of drowsy"? (just picking).

Glad it just kept you up, though, and didn't do any other nasty, scary stuff. Usually it does wear off in 12 hours. They also sell doses that last 4 hours, 6 hours, & 8 hours, if you want to have more control over timing.

While it may keep me awake, it clearly doesn't improve the precision of my thinking. :-)

I'm actually free enough of symptoms now that I've stopped taking it. 12 hours is actually about the right dose for what I wanted to use it for. I was noticing the other dosages and thinking that they'd be a pain.
